My Nikon D700 has the ability to tag its images with the GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken ( optional external device ), I use the Geomet'r GPS Receiver. Since December most of my landscape photos are GPS tagged with the location where they were taken along with the heading ( direction the camera was facing ) and altitude. I have started submitting some of these photos to a place called Panoramio.com who in turn supplies these images to Google Earth and Maps so that users can then click on an image icon on the map and see exactly what the area really looks like. At this time I have loaded some images of the Loon Lake area in El Dorado County, California.
